On September 15, 2008 a
five member delegation of the World Bank
headed by Mr.Silvain visited the Regional
Tax Office, Karachi. The delegation was
given a detailed tour of the Regional Tax
Office along with orientation of the Tax
Facilitation Division especially relating to
e-filing of Tax Returns & Statements. They
took keen interest in the Automated Refund
Issuance Cell which has been established at
the RTO for automated issuance of Refund
claims of up to Rs.50,000/-. The Delegation
also received a presentation by Mr. Asrar
Raouf, Director General, RTO, Karachi on the
working and performance of the RTO. The
Director General afterwards presented, as a
souvenir, traditional Sindhi ‘Ajrak’ and
‘Topi’ along with bouquets. to all the
members of the Delegation.
