Mr. Muhammad Aqil Usman Member Legal is a senior officer of Inland Revenue Service in BS 21. He brings with him a rich professional and academic experience. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Government College Lahore and L.L.B from University Law College Multan Pakistan. He has attended a number of courses and seminars in various countries including U.S.A, U.K, Japan, and New Zealand.
Mr. Usman, in his illustrious career spanning over 34 years, has served in various key positions across the country. He remained Director General of Large Taxpayer Unit and Regional Tax Office Islamabad. He has also headed territorial as well as corporate Zones of Islamabad and initiated reforms process thereof. He has also served in Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). With his reforms oriented and innovative approach he has played a pivotal role in establishment of Large Taxpayer Unit Islamabad, registration of FBR Foundation, automation of Legal Wing FBR (HQs), and implementing Appeal Management and Processing System in Commissioner (Appeals) offices and Litigation Management System in field formations of Inland Revenue. On assumption of charge as Member legal he has worked relentlessly on harmonization and integration of Tax laws. He has a vision of transforming FBR’s Legal mechanism into an efficient and reliable system to ensure that fiscal laws are interpreted and implemented in letter and spirit.
